Women’s Business Enterprise National Council
The Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), founded in 1997, is the nation’s leading advocate of women-owned businesses as suppliers to America’s corporations. It also is the largest third-party certifier of businesses owned and operated by women in the United States. WBENC works to foster diversity in the world of commerce with programs and policies designed to expand opportunities and eliminate barriers in the marketplace for women business owners. WBENC works with representatives of corporations to encourage the utilization and expansion of supplier/vendor diversity programs.
State of Missouri WBE Certification
The State of Missouri spends between 1.3 and 1.6 Billion annually on essential goods and services, as well as renovations to and the construction of new state facilities. One of the purposes of the State of Missouri’s Office of Supplier Workforce and Diversity is to “improve the opportunities for Women and Minorities”.
The overall intent of the DBE Program is to provide opportunities to participate in the economic benefits of highway construction to small businesses owned and operated by disadvantaged individuals.
Since 2010, All America Transportation, Inc. has maintained their WBE Certification through The Supplier Clearinghouse, Public Utilities Commission-State of California. This certification is recognized by the following entities: AT&T Inc, California American Water Co., California Water Service Co., Citizens Communications, Inc., Golden State Water Co., Pacific Gas and Electric Co., Pacific Power and Light Company, Inc., San Diego Gas and Electric Co., San Gabriel Valley Water Co., San Jose Water Co., Sierra Pacific Power Co., Southern California Edison Co., Southern California Gas Co., Southwest Gas Corp., Sprint Nextel, Suburban Water Systems, SureWest Telephone, Verizon California, Inc., and Verizon Wireless.
The California Public Utilities Commission operates a Utility Supplier Diversity Program, which monitors supplier diversity in procurements by participating utilities, and oversees a clearinghouse of certified Woman, Minority, and Disabled Veteran-Owned business enterprises. All America Transportation, Inc. is recognized by the CPUC as a certified Woman’s Business Enterprise.
CERTIFIED TRANSPORTATION BROKER
The Certified Transportation Broker (CTB) Program offers graduates the highest broker certification that exists in the industry, and is the most widely recognized designation among 3PLs.
The CTB curriculum is designed to increase business acumen, improve operational and sales skills and better manage risk.
The program offers:
- General business principles every broker should understand including marketing, accounting and finance, and risk management
- Traffic management including best practices for shipment, claims, fleet, and international traffic management
- Contracts and pricing
- Navigating the ever-changing regulatory environment
- Case law involving back solicitation, double payment, Workers’ Compensation, and damage claim issues
