Truck Tonnage Falls in May
The American Trucking Association recently reported the For Hire Truck Tonnage Index fell in May for the second straight month. After falling 1.2 percent in April the index fell to 0.7 percent in May.
“The drops in tonnage are reflective of the broader economy, which has slowed, ‘ stated ATA Chief Economist Bob Costello. The good news is truck tonnage is up 3.8 percent year to date compared to the same period last year.
