Shippers, Brokers Brace For Truck Shortage

A new trend has emerged in early 2010. Due to the large number of trucking company failures since the economic downturn, truck capacity has markedly decreased from that just a few months ago. According to an industry report, demand for trucks has increased to almost three times as much as the same period in February 2009. Shippers beware, surviving trucking companies will be looking to increase their prices to make up for recent losses. Bidding wars on available trucks are expected.
