Highway Fatalities Decrease
The National Highway Traffic Administration recently announced highway deaths are at their lowest levels since the federal government started keeping records. The NHTSA announced highway deaths have dropped 1.7 percent from the previous year. This is the 6th consecutive year of fatality decreases.
The NHTSA’s report also showed a drop in the rate of deaths as related to the number of miles drove. The largest drop in fatalities occurred in New England with a percentage of 7.2% fewer fatalities.
